Bowl-A-Thon Raises Funds For Cancer Victim

The Kurt O’Brien Foundation held its 1st Annual Bowl- A-Thon in March in Orlando, Fla., to raise donations for a young cancer victim. The KOB Foundation was formed in September 2007 by Kurt O’Brien, CEO of OB Companies and Simply Self Storage, for the education and awareness of cancer prevention for children and young adults.

The donations raised by the event will go to the family of Michael Treinen, who was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia and is in need of a bone marrow transplant. For information, visit www.caringbridge.org/visit/michaeltreinen.com.

O’Brien is a cancer survivor who formed the charitable foundation to provide a younger generation with educational materials that give them a better understanding of the causes and treatments of the various forms of this disease, and to be better prepared to become health conscious adults.
