Spring Equinox
In astronomy, an equinox is a specific moment in time when the center of the sun can be observed directly above the Earth’s equator, currently occurring around March 20 and September 23 each year. There is either an equinox (autumn and spring) or a solstice (summer and winter) around the 21st day of the last month of every quarter, and we officially change seasons during these events. On March 20, at precisely 7:59 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time, the sun will cross directly over the Earth’s equator at a moment known as the vernal equinox in the Northern Hemisphere. Folk tales claim that only on the March equinox day can one balance an egg on its point. However, you can balance an egg on its point any day of the year if you have the patience!
